Who We Are

We are the beginning of a growing, people-led movement to draft Scotland’s written constitution — one rooted in dignity, democracy, and the shared future of our nation.

What began as a working draft is now becoming a national conversation. This is a collective effort, open to experts, communities, civic voices, and anyone who believes Scotland deserves a say in its own future.

A constitution is more than law — it’s a reflection of who we are and what we stand for. This process belongs to everyone. Together, we’re laying the foundation for a fairer, freer Scotland — above parties, beyond divisions, and grounded in shared values..

Our Mission

To create a written constitution for Scotland - shaped by the people, grounded in justice and democracy, and built to serve future generations.

We aim to provide the framework for an independent, inclusive, and forward-looking nation. One that guarantees rights, limits power, and ensures that sovereignty rests permanently with the people of Scotland.

This work lays the foundation for a new democratic order - including the establishment of a Preliminary Parliamentary Body, composed of citizens and civic voices, to help guide Scotland’s transition to independence and constitutional self-governance.

This is not just about leaving the UK — it’s about building the kind of country we want to become.
